Fentanyl Test Strips & Narcan Giveaway Event
Wednesday, June 26 | 4:00PM - 7:00PM
The Center 208 West 13th Street, New York
The overdose crisis has reached historic levels in New York City, with drug poisonings claiming 3,026 lives in 2022, marking a 12% increase from the previous year. Approximately 80% of these deaths involved fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid often mixed with other drugs unbeknownst to users. In response, the office of NYC Council Member Erik Bottcher will distribute free fentanyl test strips and Narcan kits this Wednesday, June 26, at the LGBT Center (208 West 13th Street) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. These harm reduction tools are crucial in preventing accidental overdoses and saving lives. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, the 988 Lifeline is available 24/7 for support.
