Safe Spot empowers bars, restaurants, and clubs to formalize their practices through policy and training for nightlife employees.

WHAT IS VILLAGE SAFE SPOT?

Developed under the Village Chelsea Nightlife Initiative, the Village Safe Spot Accreditation is a set of policy recommendations designed to enhance public safety, legal compliance, and community relations. This initiative collaborates with nightlife businesses, law enforcement, and municipal authorities to create safer environments for patrons and employees.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

While any establishment in GVCCC’s footprint is eligible to earn accreditation, this program specifically aims to improve the practices of businesses that hold a New York State Liquor Authority license. Village Safe Spot aims to decrease alcohol-related harm and build positive relationships among business owners, city agencies, state agencies, and community groups. We provide support to businesses in the Village, Chelsea, SoHo, NoHo, Union Square, and Flatiron/Nomad neighborhoods.
