  • The Plant-Powered Carbon Challenge

    The Plant-Powered Carbon Challenge is a voluntary leadership initiative for NYC’s private sector to draw down food-related carbon emissions and build a more sustainable food system in New York City. Challenge signatories pledge to make a 25% reduction in their food-related carbon footprint by 2030 through delicious, plant-powered food.

    Stand with the Mayor as a leader in the City's ambitious efforts to combat climate change. Contact nycfood@cityhall.nyc.gov to join the Challenge. 

    The Mayor’s Office of Food Policy provides Challenge signatories with support and resources for measuring their food-related carbon emissions and implementing high-impact plant-forward strategies in their food operations.

  • CURE Process Launches

    On December 28, 2023, Mayor Adams announced the launch of CURE - "Coordinating a United Resolution with Establishments" - a new process for NYPD, SBS, and the Office of Nightlife to improve public safety responses to nightlife establishments and more equitably engage with nightlife businesses.

    The CURE process establishes direct, in-person communication to address potential violations or concerns before law enforcement intervenes.

  • Public Hearing for City of Yes for Economic Opportunity

    Wednesday, January 24 | 10am to 6pm | In person, videoconference, or phone

    Save the date: on January 24, the City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding City of Yes for Economic Opportunity. New Yorkers will have an opportunity to give testimony on this effort to reform zoning for thriving retail streets.

  • Slow Your Roll, Respect The Stroll Campaign

    The Slow Your Roll, Respect The Stroll campaign a new multilingual public awareness campaign was unveiled last week. The campaign urges cyclists to be mindful of pedestrian safety by yielding to pedestrians, avoiding biking on sidewalks, stopping at red lights, and refraining from biking against traffic.

    The campaign is now appearing on LinkNYC kiosks throughout Council District 3, which includes the neighborhoods of Hudson Square, the West Village, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, the Flatiron District, Garment District, and Times Square.
